The technique of reticulation has been used to create this 'English oak tree' pendant, which is suspended from a substantial 2.8 mm handmade sterling silver torque. It sits just below the base of the throat, and is sure to be remarked upon!

Silver Abstract Shapes Pendant

So, what do you see? This abstract, lightly reticulated sterling silver pendant represents diving birds to some people, leaping aquatic mammals to others (there is a certain congruence between those two opinions), and a range of hills or mountains to others again. It doesn't matter, it's lovely anyway.

This pendant was made by fusing randomly selected pieces of sterling silver around the large head of an old hammer, and is inspired by the Show of Hands song 'Roots'. It has a rather Gothic look, and is quite definitely different! There is a pair of earrings that complement this pendant on the Earrings page. (Show of Hands fans please note: I can make similar pendants , although they will not be exactly the same as this one. Please contact me if you would like one made for you.)

Silver Pendant with 18 Carat Gold Detail

A reticulated sterling silver rectangle has been enhanced by the addition of 18 carat gold detail and hung on a square snake chain. Simple, but lovely.

Silver Pendant with Chrysocolla on Twisted Silver Torque

This pendant features the unusual and very beautiful semi-precious gemstone chrysocolla, with Peruvian opal running through it. The setting has been formed into a wave shape to echo the tropical sea colours of the stone, and the pendant is suspended from an open-ended torque handmade by forming a twisted rope of sterling silver wire.

This is both striking and unusual. Handmade from sterling silver, I call it the 'totem pole pendant'. It is 7 cm long (about 23/4 inches), and will certainly provide a talking point. Here shown with a silver chain, but it looks very good with a leather thong finished with sterling silver ends and a handmade silver clasp.

Shell Pendant

I found this shell (with lots of others) on a beach in Normandy, and thought it was beautiful, so I brought it home (with lots of others!) and wrapped it in silver, following its lines but being careful not to overwhelm its natural loveliness. I did think about adding it to the fossilised bamboo necklace (see Necklaces page), but decided both were gorgeous on their own.

£15 on silver chain

Amber Pendant

This piece of amber from the forest floor has the most gorgeous treacly honey colours in it. It has been simply hand-wrapped in sterling silver to set it off, and hangs from a sterling silver chain.

Granulated Pendant and Earrings Set

This little set comprises a handmade leaf-shaped sterling silver pendant, decorated with handmade silver balls, and matching earrings. The earrings, if placed together, are the same shape as the pendant. The technique of soldering balls of silver on to larger pieces is called granulation. All the pieces have been given a hand-brushed satin finish and the earrings have post and butterfly fittings. The sterling silver chain is included.
